Law 7: Move

Lesson 2: The One Word and a Few of the Famous People Who Spoke It.

  • Charles Dickens would walk the streets of London while considering the content of his novels, log up to 20 miles a day, and even staged "The Great International Walking Match."
  • Steve Reeves (former Mr. Universe, who starred in the Hercules films of the1960's, taught walking as the best exercise)
  • Thomas Jefferson (3rd President) said that the native Americans would go almost as far in a day on foot as the "enfeebled white man" does on his horse. He said, "there is no habit that you will value so much as walking far without fatigue." He recommended 2 hours per day for exercise!
  • Christ did early morning walks to the top of mountains to do His deepest praying (and He and Buddha even did a little walking on water).
  • President Truman would often require reporters to walk with him if they wanted to interview him.
  • Paul Bragg (the man Jack LaLanne said saved his life) called walking the "king of exercises."
  • Raquel Welch belived walking key to staying beautiful and fit.
  • Buddha walked (though often depicted sitting).
  • Gandhi walked across India while fasting.
  • Thoreau wrote an essay on all the benefits of walking and said he would have trouble keeping his sanity if he could not walk EVERY DAY.

If I only had one word to say to you about how to be healthy and beautiful, peaceful, and intelligent-- only one word of advice to give (you'll see below that it would be the same as Thomas Jefferson, Steve Reeves, Paul Bragg, and Charles Dickens), this would be the word: "walk"

If you would be without disease: walk.

Want a healthy appetite suppressant to help you avoid too many of the wrong foods? Walk

Want an effective antidepressant? Walk

if you want peace when you feel anxious? walk.

If you want beauty: walk.

If you want better sex: walk.

If you want increased intelligence: walk.

If you want increased creativity: walk.

Want a more focused prayer or meditation? Walk

Weight Loss from more calories burned in a day? Walk.

Do you see the trend? Below, I'll even tell you the iPhone app to get...

Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk!

Seems simple? But I still hear questions, "But what about Yoga, or spinning, or weight training, or the Nautilus machine, or aerobics, or dancing, or tennis, or golf?"

Answer: If you love those activities, wonderful! Enjoy!

But, still--walk.

In other words, there is no substitute for walking. Do all the other as much as interest or time allows, but never give up the walking.

Do Today (3 Things)

1. If you haven't already, download and listen to the #1 Weight Loss Secret (it's about walking and applies even if your weight is perfect).
