Some of the other hormone work with estrogen to help avoid side effects and
to better treat symptoms. Look for helps in these important tips:
- Don't look to estrogen for sex drive or energy, this comes more from
progesterone and testosterone
- Don't look for estrogen to help with fatigue, this comes more from
testosterone and growth hormone
- Don't expect hormone replacement to solve all your health problems.
Out of balance hormones are a heavy anchor--but when your hormones are
balanced and the anchor is pulled up, you must still crank the engine with
good health practices if you wish to feel better and to enjoy good health.
- Progesterone helps with sleep and calmness more than estrogen
- Estrogen relieves hot flashes better than the others but you can also have
hot flashes from low testosterone levels
- If you haven't had a free T3 and a free T4 within the past year, then you
don't really know if your thyroid is working properly.
- Growth hormone levels can and often are abnormally low in women who have
everything else corrected and are still nearly bedridden with fatigue and or
fibromyalgia
- You will not feel happy and calm with a low testosterone level...yes women
do need a small level of this hormone (men usually between 500 and 1200,
women should be around 50 to 80).
- Birth control pills and Premarin will often lower testosterone levels and
cause irritability and fatigue
- Low testosterone levels decrease your metabolism (even if thyroid is
normal) and can lead to weight gain.
